Catching Fire

I was having fun with Picmonkey and made this:

We have just started filming Little Red Riding Hood. So far the filming is going very well, we are working on short scenes and clips to start with until we have fully worked up the script and story line. I have most of the plot in my head but I need to write it out for the others. Callah is doing amazing for her first main-character part on film. She has been bugging me to do the "more exciting" scenes already! I am still working on costumes and props, getting Sir Wolf together is going to be the hardest part. But everything else is going great! :)

The Games Begin

Okay, I'm a little late. So we went to see the movie Sunday morning, I was a little nervous about how it would turn out because the night before, my mom had talked to someone who had watched it and they said they were disappointed. But when we walked out of the theater we were not disappointed, it was very well done. They did a great job focusing on the main topic of the story: the value of life, a lot of people see it as just a sci fi story about kids killing each other, but if you read all the books you will see the authors intentions are not to write a violent thriller story, you are supposed to hate the hunger games and the idea of children killing each other! That's the whole point! When I was reading reviews on the movie, parents were complaining about how awful it was and that they couldn't believe they were making a movie about kids killing kids! They said, "what is the world coming too!" as if there was something terribly wrong with the movie. Yes, I understand their concern about this, but if you were paying any attention to the movie you would have seen that what you are complaining about is exactly what the movie is about! It is perfectly agreeing that kids killing is bad! We still send our kids to public school! We hear stories all the time about kids killing kids there! Hello, don't you get the picture? And please, read the books before you judge the movie! And by the way, all the kids loved it, most of them had read the books, I only hope they get the moral of the story and aren't just getting into the romance and violence. - Sarah
